    Default Play WOW? Help :)

While I'm botting maxed stats for months, I decided to take up wow. I bought the battle chest and installed, but when I play it is horrible frame rate. I looked at some of the official wow frame rate help videos, and they said if I have it set to "low" (which I do, and still have horrible frame rate) that it's my system, and that I'll need an updated system. I compared it to their system requirements and I think my system is fine. Tell me what you think OR if you know something to help. Here's a pic of my system:

and here is their minimum and recommended requirements:

    Please help =)

All I can say is you're lucky blizzard allows the game to go to such extreme low settings.. my GTX 680 gets a workout running it on max settings.

Your best bet is low settings & lowest resolution, other than that.. your computer will probably lag no matter what

This is my fairly older deskstop, but I didn't think it was that bad! I am able to run like 3-4 RS bots at a time, videos load no problem, no lag navigating internet, etc.

I suppose I will have to redownload everything onto my lap top? (it's less than a year old)

blizzard makes their games portable, I would .7z the folder and send it over instead of redownload, but it is up to you

And yes, processing power is what all of that other stuff requires, which the athlon had intel going crazy for a few years there. However this is mostly graphics processing which your desktop has poor power when it comes to that :P

you could get a graphics card for that machine

what does your dxdiag (go to start & search dxdiag.exe) say about your integrated graphics I'm assuming, because it's an emachine.

I have no idea what the fuck that even means in the bolded part .

But yeah I assume my computer wasn't built to be quite the gaming PC. I'll get on my lap top and post it's system information and you can tell me if it will be any good.

edit: posting from my lap top - here's it's info:

the graphics tab on the dxdiag

.7z is archive file type, its compression is way better than zip

    http://www.7-zip.org/

you just zip the wow folder (compress it) and then move it over to your laptop, then you don't have to reinstall the game

portable means, it can just be dragged and dropped and it will work.. some programs put files in dumb spots outside of their folder so they aren't portable

I have to go, but good luck I'll be back in a few hours

Checking your hardware you should be fine, but you need to mention what is your *Video?
just simply go to Device Manager and click on *Display Adapters it will say what yours has

Yea we still need to see the video cards, your emachine seems integrated, so your laptop would be better

I wouldn't game with it on a bed.. make sure it's on a glass, granite, wooden or something surface.. so the heat doesn't b uild up

The specs you linked look fine to run WoW on low atleast, chances are your Video Card (most likely integrated graphics) is the issue.

If you hit windows key - R and type in dxdiag it will show you what you have under the display tab

ok thanks for all the help guys . and the desk top , when I run dxdiag, under the display tab, says:
Name: NVIDIA GeForce 6150SE nForce 430

    DAC Type: Integrated RAMDAC

Don't know what that means, but from what you guys have said above it sounds that integrated is not what I'm going to want . I downloaded it on my lap top overnight, I'll see how it runs now!

I googled it, apparently its extremely low end for our current times sadly
You will have to play it on a different computer

yeah this desktop is 4-5 years old. Still works amazingly well for everything else! but I have a lap top that is <1 year old, so I can just run all my bots on my desktop , and play wow on my lap top (hopefully)..about to try!

woo hoo! It was slightly still choppy on "fair", but when I put it down to "low" it is perfectly smooth. I can't see as far, but I'm happy with that. Now I can bot 120 dung on my pc, and start trying WOW on my lap top
