    Default Combat Update

What do you guys think about this impending update? From what I've seen so far, it'll probably be the update that finally ruins RS for me. The whole HP boosting thing is ridiculous and the concept of all these special moves just looks retarded in my opinion. One of the things I appreciate most about the game is that the combat system is simple but still exciting enough. With this new update it looks like they're turning it into street fighter or something lol. To add to the problems, it looks like this update will end pures and hybriding... and those were two fun elements of pking. I can see Jagex is trying to make the game more interesting, but I think they've taken it too far at this point. The old combat mechanics have been nearly the same since I started playing in 2007 (I think) and I really don't want to see them go.

Looking forward to it, actually. There are so many people who, for whatever reason, freak out whenever there's an update (see: YouTube, Facebook, Twitter, etc.) and do not appreciate the fact that a lot of thought has actually been put into it and the people behind it worked hard to bring us this new content. I don't care for nostalgia. You may not want to admit it, but if Runescape stayed exactly the same with no updates at all since its launch, you would likely not keep playing for this long. Give this update a try first, once it's officially launched.

I think it will bring a new element to the game, that while it may be (extremely) similar to other RPGs it will spice up an aspect of the game neglected by many at present.

I don't completely mind it, it certainly makes training combat more interesting than it was. Click, wait, move to another NPC repeat.

it will make the game more strategic ie the pvp will be based on which abilities rather than just lvl and the gear used.

I dont mind the new combat style but i hate the way you acess the abilities.

It'll make botting (or at least making the include) so much harder. But it looks awesome. I can't wait to use dual wielded weapons. I'm so excited for the update.

I don't mind it (played this game since 04, account created in 01). It definitly takes more skill to pk now (which is nice) and no pjer. Training is faster, and it definitly takes botting combat in to a new level (but not much harder).

Making the including isn't bad, and a lot of stuff is much much easier, such as infight and using inventory (with action bar).

I think its pretty crappy how they are making it like every other game out there. Their combat was unique and now, well I might as well play WoW. Luckly Im almost done maxing slayer out, so I wont have a need for combat anymore.

They are only targeting what makes money, which is their recent players. They already gived up on their old and loyal members. Which is why only give beta to people that have been member this year and not the 6-7 year earlier.

it was the string of updates in 2007 that ruined runescape for me however i personally would like to see this combat update as combat becomes more skill oriantated.

    (i started in 05)

They let all people who have been a member for at least the past year access the beta which means all the old players would've had access

^Yeah, they give every one who was member for the entire duration of 2012 til release of beta. But not the people that were member when they were prime or when they were down..

It might seems like a little rant, but its the truth that jagex doesn't give a SHIT about old player. Plenty of people like me who were member for 2006-2011 and were part member for only 2012, they just go "Go fuck yourselves". If andrew were still there, he'd definitly give beta to people atleast with vet cap +

Andrew's the one that sold the company out. He gives fewer fucks than anyone.

I can understand their reasoning in wanting to cap the number of players in the beta. You are right, though, they should have done more to include longtime members that had briefly lapsed their subscription.

I'm looking forward to the update myself, but that's because I've never actually played a action bar game so it's still new to me even if copied. xD

I honestly think it will be a cool update, and some scripts should even be easier to make

I rejected the idea of the EoC at first, but after lurking the beta section in the RSOF I'm actually pretty excited for it. I'm sad though that F2P isn't getting dual-wielding, I really wanted dual Grav rapiers for dueling. Also it seems that requirements for F2P equipment above bronze are all being increased by 10 (50 for rune, 55 for Grav/berserker), but I'm still waiting on the real update before I start levelling my pure any more.
Long ago, the '90s Nicktoons lived together in harmony. Then, everything changed when the century turned. Only Avatar, the best of the 2000's Nicktoons, could save them. But when the channel needed it most, the show finished. Four years passed and Mike and Bryan created the new Avatar: Legend of Korra. And although the show itself is great, it has a long way to go before it can live up to The Last Airbender. But I believe Korra can save Nickelodeon.
