    Default What makes it so hard?

    Dungeoneering scripts. Why can't we do it? I've been thinking over the theory in my head for quite some time, and I think I could do it.

    The multitude of colors and puzzles would take about a year to script it and then Jagex have a funny way of changing it.. :/ I mean its plausible but time consuming

    What about complexity 1? or 2 or 3?

    Just take a look in a dungeon now and see how many colors are similar. I know you can use uptext and various other methods but it's hard.

    I've already found a way around that obstacle.

    Have a look at WeDungeon a project by GeDropped.

    There is also a project going on in SRL Members + but I would assume you don't have access to that.

    No doubt it is do-able, but it is a very big and time consuming project which is why most people are avoiding embarking on a venture like this.
    If you feel you have the time and/or the ability then I'd recommend you join in with other people doing the same.

    The main reason that comes to my mind is: Randomization

    No two dungeons are the same so the script would have to be prepared for basically anything. Doing one set of floors (frozen, abandoned, furnished) would probably be hard enough, but since most of the floors change dramatically (color-wise), it would be even harder to have all of them. All the puzzle rooms, different creatures, items, keys, key doors (mapping where they are), the bosses (some you have to prepare for and others you need special tactics) and doing them without dieing a ton of times, would take a lot of work

    That's just my opinion on why it hasn't been done yet, I'm not that good of a scripter yet, so I could be over (or under) dramatizing it, but I think it's pretty clear why one hasn't been made yet. It takes time, A LOT of time.

    I'd give you credit for trying but Jagex seems to change stuff a lot easier then your able to script so you may spend a ton of time coding to then have to re-do alot, unless a bunch of people worked together and it removed a ton of the coding.

    Best bet is to wait for a open gl/direct x plugin, that will make things alot more reliable/faster/quicker

    I'm pretty sure it has come to a screeching halt? Zmon has been away for a long time and I'm pretty sure everyone else has jsut about given up...

    EDIT: KeepBotting, you should DEFINITELY join WeDungeon. You would be a wonderful member to that group and together you would have it done in no time.

    Not completely correct. There are ways to make scripts break-proof (or at least break-resistant).

    Hey there you might have had time to take a look at my project WeDungeon and well to be honest coding this is all I have done this week .... about 5-12 hours per day this week.... it is a real pain but I see hope in the furture of my script and it is coming along well however if you do plan to making this GL to you I its a real brain test to solve all the issues but my script is about 85+% done for a class 1 rusher. Honestly the chance of there being a script that can do class 6 is .001% because honestly the time it would take to do that would be roughtly 1000+ days but it would be more like infinaty because once you get something working jagex will update and change something messing up the script. I plan on the release date to be sometime next week hopefully if things go well. But let me tell you it is a true pain in my ***

    I beg to differ, my doom has been impending for some time now but I've been able to outrun it so far.
