There's a lot of interesting stuff out there in .onionland, but unfortunately, there's also a lot of stuff you probably don't want anything to do with.

TorDir is a decent starting point for those looking to check it out.

A lot of the websites on the deep web isn't dangerous at all; the only condition to make it to deep web is to not show up in google search (or other search engines). The bots works in such way that the only thing one have to do in order to not show up is to not post the website link anywhere

No.. the reason they don't show up is TOR uses its own DNS.. the intranet for tor just doesn't allow google to go snooping around there because google doesn't care enough to add some of its bots to tor.

TOR is extremely boring (what you call the deep web) and there's almost nothing interesting down there except the tor library and that phpbb hacking site

Lies. Some are unabled to be shown. They can't be Cached, so google and such can't show them.

uhh no? you can cache any page that you can see... there's no magical fairy that blocks you from grabbing source code.

For those of you curious to check it out, get onion browser from installous. Just tried it, but I chickened out of clicking on any links... Read through the links on the hidden wiki though, sounds like a messed place.

tor project uses firefox alpha (aurora) to connect, I wouldn't really trust anything else.. you're more likely to get a virus installing tor software than browsing tor.

The onion network is the only one I know of, Im probably gonna try to browse it on my iphone tonight with tor for iphone, it think thats safe... Seems like a lot of interesting stuff goes on there. Let me know how your trip goes.

Just to clarify, you're 100 times more likely to get a virus on the clearweb.. especially since 99% of tor sites don't even run basic scripts let alone complex.

Well, I think it's disgusting, yes. But I don't majorly get freaked out by it. I just avert my eyes and click the back button.

This.. the idea of tor is cool, the crap it's infested with makes it as fun as browsing the internet in a dumpster.




but again, just to say it again, the only thing on tor that is more interesting than watching grass grow is the tor library.

There is alot of great stuff on the deep web. Your all looking at Hidden wiki, right ? Well think about it, that site was made for hidden(bad thing) not the good stuff thats out there. There are many search engines for science on the deep web and a lot of other factual stuff thats good to know. Look for the good stuff and you shall find

umm idk how exactly, my computer pro cousin told me he could do it if i had a open port and he would maybe need my ip. but im not sure if it was a open port he needed :s. a custom keylogger/rat could do it too easily

Not really, you can find everything in abundance on the clear web..
Tor Library is only collection that you won't find anything like that on the clear web
