I hate to be a downer, but you should consider holding off on 99 ranged. Slaying with a cannon is practically a necessity, and if you plan on getting your slayer up, you will be wasting a lot of ranged xp.
If you don't ever plan on getting 99 slayer, it doesn't really matter.
I remember just range guilding my way through. If I recall, I got around 45k xp per hour at 85 range with full royal dhide, archers ring, ranging ammy, dark bow and the archer helm.
You can expect to gain atleast 3.5m Range xp from 84-99 slayer if you cannon.
Nice dude! 99 Range was my first 99 also, I still have the vid from when I got it. I got it all legit too, as this was about 2½ years ago, before i started botting :s

I used moss killer bot till 80 ranged then I just legit chinned it to 99![]()
Scripting powerlevel = [||||||||]
Good luck with it. I legit chinned until 86 where i've run out of funds ha
When I did ranged it took ages because I used Pest controll.![]()
Anyway, good luck with it.
I'm sorry that you're doubling or tripling the time of some of the best slayer tasks. Any serious slayer will tell that cannoning is far and away the best xp. This isn't something that is debatable. It is fact that cannoning is the best way to train slayer.
I'm not saying that you should cannon every single task. However, a good chunk of tasks can be done in a fraction of the time with a cannon.
It's the fastest way to train, but not necessarily the best. Cost is a major factor in determining the 'best' as well as time. Frost dragon bones, Red chinning, and bursting are among the fastest XP in their respective skills, but to some people these are not economically feasible. Likewise while cannoning is great xp-wise, you also have to consider the cost/profit ratio for certain tasks. There are other factors as well, but cost is another one of the biggest.
td;dr (really? for something that short?) - It is debatable when you consider more factors than xp/h.
Long ago, the '90s Nicktoons lived together in harmony. Then, everything changed when the century turned. Only Avatar, the best of the 2000's Nicktoons, could save them. But when the channel needed it most, the show finished. Four years passed and Mike and Bryan created the new Avatar: Legend of Korra. And although the show itself is great, it has a long way to go before it can live up to The Last Airbender. But I believe Korra can save Nickelodeon.
It's true that cannoning can be quite expensive, but the increase to xp per hour is well worth it. Also, drops from slayer are generally enough to offset the cost (maybe not on a given task, but in the long run they are).
You also need to take in to account the amount of time lost by not using a cannon. For example, I can do a hellhound task from Kuradel in around 20 minutes when using a cannon. This same task without a cannon would easily take twice as long. In that 20 minutes that I saved, I can make more money than what was lost using the cannon. Over the long run, the amount of time saved is considerable and easily offsets the cost of cannonballs.
