IP bans do not work. Even if he was IP banned, what is stopping him from coming back with an alt account?

Yep yep. IMO, it's not about stopping this individual from ever entering Villavu again, it's about exposing his mistake and disabling his account all together to make him realize how serious it was. If he chooses to return later on another account then hopeful he'll have changed, but should he choose to leave the community all together, so be it.

would have expected more from such a person tbh.

That is just stupid -.- does anyone know if he made a new account and tried to explain himself? maybe he was hacked or something.... wow is basically all I have to say. He had a large post count and he took the time to learn how to script as he was a SRL member.... and what shay said about him earn 1m/hr I bet he got much less because of all the time he most likely spent learning and doing stuff other than just posting.... how ever I can agree I hate theifs

Don't you think the admins would have solid evidence before banning a SRL Member such as Joe?

I'm sorry that it happened, but he was given many chances
Also, he had plenty of time to "explain himself". The scam happened almost a week ago.

Like some say, I don't understand what's to keep him from coming back and getting SRL membership(since hes a good scripter), then doing the same thing again when he gets the chance? People are more trusting towards SRL members.

Why shouldn't a IP ban work? If you use a static IP, like me, you have to contact your provider to change the IP. On villavu, the admins could do a IP-pool ban and even then they won't probably hit a innocent victim.

Because everyone who ever had that IP / were part of that pool would be banned / unable to register

IP banning on a forum where programming and scripting is taught is not that effective. Most of us know how to use a proxy, by not IP banning users it is easier to track their attempts of creating a new account and continuing there behavior. IMO people shouldn't be IP banned.

Im fairly sure that Joe is in the 14-17 range and doesn't live alone and would have to talk to his parents to call ISP etc. Unless his parents dont give a shit, it could be really effective.

I thought the reason we didn't do ip bans was if the person had innocent siblings which it wouldn't be fair on.

But if he got a dynamic IP he could reboot the router I think.

If that's true then it would explain why he would take 50m, under the age of 20 sometimes it's hard to contain greed, even if it is pixels.

If you needed a break from SRL why not ask for a perm ban instead, well according to him, he wanted a payout for his "time" here. Hmm...

That's just blatantly selfish. Even if we assume that he deserves this 'payout', what makes him think Based Lord deserves losing 50m too?

And did he forget that the developers of SRL contribute wayyyyy much more than him but didn't receive a single cent? I always believe that the benefits of contributing to SRL are the valuable learning experiences gained as well as an unparalleled sense of satisfaction that should never be materialized...

I'm sure he could have asked a mod he could have had a ban. That way he'd have the chance to come back in the future if he ever changed his mind by contacting a mod or something.
Still just seems like an immature thing way to go about it to me, if it is the full truth.
