    Default Don't use auto-responders

So, a user asked about the invisible bonus fishing levels during a discussion on granite lobsters while I was fishing for rocktails, and this is the response:

Haha this is why we should be careful about using responders in our scripts

Public chat -> off. Then it's not suspicious if someone talks to us and we don't respond.

But they don't know if you have public off, so they'd still report you. Even if Jagex can see I had it off I want my account to be completely off their radar.

They will still report u, then jagex will have other ways to detect u.
That's why we shdn't have in-built autoresponders, everyone should make their own so everyone's response will be totally unique.

And a function to make typos on a huge list of possible responses.

    autoresponders often overcomplicate things
it's probably best to just not have one

or a cleverbot autoresponder, but only if you're 100% sure that they are talking to you and only you

If there is a autoresponder legit people normally just abuse it, especially at rocktails.

My responder has kept me safe througout the years. It is all a question of being extremely rude/offensive, at least that is my solution. When someone adresses me as bot, I give you an insult + I type your name with one or two errors, or truncate your name without numbers. The rules determining if someone is mentioning: bot or botswana, are not really complex. Remember, I log all chat in chatfiles , so there's plenty to study.

For the rest, I can babble simple twofold stuff. It helps to store who is speaking and to have all logical truncations of your name (remember nick?)

You have probably bumped into me once or twice before in your rs-lifes, but my rudeness exceeds my botness

This is nifty I'm impressed. So it is somewhat easy to implement this system that you have developed?

yes but that was only undectable because it was unique to you it wasn't like 10,000 other players were doing the exact same.

*facepalm* it still wouldn't have the same name, and who would realize someone in falador saying something similar to someone in varrock? There aren't 10,000 people who use Simba..

3500 people browsed these forums in the last 24 hours. That includes guests. Simba is also used on other forums such as scythe. 10,000 is no exaggeration.

What I am really trying to tell you guys here is that it is good not to have a stupid autoresponder build-in any system, because it invokes errors, QED. You should have your own one.

Nevertheless, maybe in the future you will receive an empty framework enabling you to fill it at your own need. Depends what will come next from Jagex's farm.

I say if there is going to be a responder, then it should be all linked to one server, making sure there are less of the same responses. Also, common questions mean common answers.

    In conclusion...lol
Anyway, I agree with Nebula, I keep my Public and Private chat off, in case someone does try to speak to me :P
