Default So, I just spent $2300+

    On a new laptop. http://www.tigerdirect.com/applicati...?EdpNo=2374430

Laptop comes in Tuesday and a Crucial 512 SSD + 4GB of ram will come in probably Tuesday or Wednesday.
    http://www.tigerdirect.com/applicati...p?EdpNo=365477

    So 16gb of ram + 515 SSD + 750GB HD = GG Computer?

Its pretty much top of the line. Tell me what you think?

    Little to overboard?

I plan on playing Sims 3 on it. Think it will run well? (kidding)

Oh long time no see, hai.

Yea I'm really excited. I got tired taking my Desktop to LAN parties to much of a hassle.

My first gaming laptop in my 22 years of existence.

So I'm pretty excited. I will make a review video soon and update this post.

Games that will be being played on..

    Diablo 3
    SC2
    Guild Wars 2
    BF3
    ...

and thats pretty much it till i can get my hands on some more games.

If anyone can afford $70 a month payment. You can buy this laptop just saying ^_^

Except I didn't go that route, but my friend is.

I don't know, I prob would have went cheap and gone with this.

That was basically $1000 for 4GB of ram, bluray, and a second harddrive installed... I don't really count 3D as a feature as I don't like it but hey if you do add it to the list...

For $3000 you can get it with 32 GB ram, 480 gb ssd primary, 1 tb secondary, one step higher processor, one step higher video card, bluray player, and some free gifts.

EDIT: Here's a pic of my current laptop >..> Compaq Presario CQ56

Nice laptop, I wouldn't spend that much myself though. In a year you can already get the same specs for half of the price. I tend to buy everything around mid/high range :P Similar specs to my laptop except your graphics card is better, around 75% I'd say. I run GW2 @ 1920x1080 at around 40 FPS with everything on medium. You should be able to run it maxed out at 60 FPS

And you have a 3D display, that's pretty cool actually :P

Wait, 2300+!!! What in the world do you need 12 gigs of ram for!?!? Also, couldn't you just get one with 8gb ram, and added the other 4?

What is so special about this laptop?

Yea that company uses cheap parts on everything they build and then overprice it. My brother dumped $2440 on a prebuilt computer and it didn't even come with the latest Intel i7, or a 680 GTX. It came with a 550. He got trolled so hard. I'm laughing at him.

yea even though I have read reviews about it getting around 20-30fps with max settings on certain games with 3D enabled, I really didn't get it for the games part but also as my portable entertainment center for me and my girlfriend to watch movies off it in 3D.

that one doesn't come with 3D or the 670. By ASUS, this is top of the line.

An 8GB would have came with a 660m, I wanted a 670m even though MSI goes up to the new 680m, I love ASUS products and always will. MSI laptops look bulky to me. And if you read my post I said I was upgrading it to 16 Gb of ram.

imo you spent too much on it, you don't need that much ram for games ( I assume it's for gaming), unless you use it for 3d drawing or something similar. 4-8GB ram is more than enough.

Im using a 6GB ram, and its more than enough to run many things at once. I think that amount is just too much.

I'm using 8gb ram on my desktop, why not taking 16gb portable?
