Jagex dont do IP-related bans AFAIK, so unless you trade the farmed gold to your main it cant be banned.
In one of their talks, they said that they want to deal with people that goldfarm on other accounts to support their main. I'm sure that won't happen too soon, but it'd be wise to not to transfer all the money to your main. Use mules.
Botting for skills won't be much of a problem I think.

I've been wondering this too. I've been botting on 3-4 side accounts for some time now to support my main (don't worry, what I do doesn't affect market prices ). What I'm wondering is, can Jagex track you giving the gold to your main if you a.) Drop trade it b.) Use it on a table and let your main pick it up or c.) Kill the botted account in clan war's red portal? The latter i think can be traced so I try not to do that that much. I'm not sure about the other two though.
Keep in mind they fully have the ability to track every account you've logged on under any specific computer and/or IP address; it's listed directly in their Privacy Policy that they already keep track of these things. Just something to remember.![]()

It has been done before, and they have mentioned it quite a bit lately.
Reading over various ORSF forum threads and complaints people have made, you'll sometimes see threads regarding this. They're usually hidden fairly quickly as I don't think you're allowed to talk about it on the forums
I have personal experience with a Jagex mod carrying offenses over to my main account when the only connection between the offense and the account was an IP address :/

So they automatically track accounts together under the same IP? Even if they have no interaction with each other whatsoever? Or do they only notice that they have the same IP if the account botted on gets banned and they realize that the botted account traded items/cash over to the main account? And if the botted account gets banned and traded items over to the main, can they track that if the items/cash were given to the main through drop trading? That's what I'm wondering.
