Smile VeloxBot - A New Color Bot

    Hi,

I'd like to introduce you to VeloxBot. VeloxBot is an automation(bot) program for RuneScape, it is created in Java and recognizes colors to function.

The bot has been released over at https://www.veloxbot.org

You may ask any questions and I will add them to this post.

    Q & A

Q : Who is developing VeloxBot?
A : iJava and Velox are the main people working on the bot however there are others. Viper is creating our script repository which should go live soon.

Q : How does it work?
A : You use scripts which use points and colors to interact ingame and perform tasks.

Q : Will you support OpenGL?
A : Yes in the future we are planning an openGL intercept or possibly DirectX so that we have a faster and more reliable bot.

    Q :
What motivated your team to work on this so close to the proposed dooms day of bots?

A : We are confident that this bot will survive the nuke, since we are a color bot we are only loading the game then grabbing the canvas. JaGeX will have a hard time preventing us do what we do without ruining the game.

Q : Do you have any Plan B's or C's in place to try and bring the bot up again after Botany Bay or the nuke?
A : Like I said we shouldn't be effected. Furthermore our API utilizes a lot of random movements and is human like.

Q : The nuke will still allow for Injection bots, as it is not changing the code. How does VeloxBot propose it will avoid detection, seeing as the nuke is actually a detection software.
A : Injection bots are more detectable due to the modification of the client, we don't modify the client and they can't detect the canvas hack as it isn't theirs. In addition to this we are basically randomizing most methods so that each click is different than the last. We are working on making the bot more human like and our mouse splines aren't big curves but more how you would move your mouse.

    Q : What OS's will be supported?
    A : All OS's will be supported.

Hello, nice to meet you ZDGML,
Ive a couple questions to ask about this project:

    Is your work open source?

What would want to make me use this bot, instead of Simba or some other client?

Please list specific OS's, as I guarantee you will (99.99%) not support every OS...

I asked this on their forums: https://veloxbot.org/forum/showthrea...oxBot-vs-Simba

basically, they either don't know what they are talking about or they are just hating on pascal

    Here's a
Simba sucks. It's so slow and you don't script with java.

I fail to see the advantage. There are almost no scripts, we are up and running here with working scrips in all categories. (I did not test any there) I also wonder why you felt the need to post here with this as your only post?

The bot itself is closed source for many reasons, a lot being security.

This client works on all major OS's, haven't compared RAM but it should be the same or less. In addition to this, VeloxBot is updated regularly and new features are constantly being added, plus we have a script repository with a good system.

    Windows
    Mac
    Linux

Is what it has been tested on, not all linux distros have been tested.

Obviously not all are programmers, also what did you expect to get when you posted on the VeloxBot forums from the majority of members? It'd be the same with every bot.

So you didn't want to know about the bot? Scripts will come in time, hell Simba has been around how long? It should have scripts for each skill.

Suspicious new bot appears during supposed bot nuke, is closed source, and has "new features".

Thanks, but I will stick with Simba it can do everything I require at this point .
IDung is wonderful for the one thing I cannot do on simba.

    This Viper must be godlike!
    Lol, dat future maybe :P

What makes me suspicious is why I haven't heard about this before, and going on the forums, almost all of the accounts I see besides BMW's, has 150 + posts...

Oh I know most are not programmers, but the programmers that did respond only said java is better. Nothing about the bot, just the language it's coded in. I have no problem with java but it will take more than java to make me start scripting there.

You must have some faith seeing as you're using RSBot which has been hacked before, kind sir.

Typically new things are those you haven't heard about before and generally the people there are relatively new too. Amazing isn't it?

What you guys need to understand about this bot nuke :

    1. It's nothing like the first as the client isn't changed immensely and only an improved detection system.
    2. Most bots are closed source these days and for good reasons.
    3. It's a new bot and not many have heard of it which is what we are trying to improve here.

These guys (well Velox and iJava and probably others) appear to have put significant work into this project, so I hope things go well for them. Just expect a few people to be dubious when you join here to advertise a closed source bot.

The very reason for Simba's creation and continual existence is to oppose the tyranny of the close source.

Simba is fully open source and there has not been any 'security issues'? The major turnoff for many members here of the other bots is them being close source.

As for the hatred for pascal, while admittedly it is flawed in several ways, you could always create plugins for Simba in other languages.

That's all fine being open source, we need to stay closed source for our script repository, account manager as well as protecting our code from leechers etc. We have made our API open.

The reason we dont like bots like yours is we are here to do programming, not just botting. Simba is open source and pascal is an easy language, so its a great practise for newbies like me.
