oo I see, nice nice. You usually liquid cool when you are oc'ing processors like a 3570k? I know this is lingering off topic from your case but does that scale for higher processors too? Do you liquid cool when constantly oc'ing a 39xxk? even some e7-8xxx server?

OT: I indeed hope the rest your parts arrive soon! Stinks having to wait for them.

can't overclock most server processors, but yea no matter what liquid cooling (custom loop) have better cooling, instead of dissipating over a small heatsink you dissipate all over the entire flow of water + your radiator (mines on top) which gives a much better cooling, that's why cars use the same type of system (computer liquid cooling designed from cars) instead of having the radiator where the wind blows through while you drive.. we use fans obviously

and no prob being off topic, there's a reason I post all my stuff in NOTA usually :P

A super computer warehouse one of my teachers worked in like 15 years ago - they channeled a river through there to cool the machines, in a half pipe that touched the processors and the water just flowed through, my teachers job was scraping off the fish that got burnt onto the hot parts LOL

the machine was like 100+ feet long pretty much.. probably had less power than my 3930k does

Insanely cold for ivy bridge overclock:

    http://i.imgur.com/bQF0GM4.jpg

might go higher, though super cold at 4.2ghz is tempting for me to stay there.. so will probably sit there for at least a month and know it's so nice

other people are at like 1.3v to get at 4.4ghz + and I'm still down in the 1.1v I reckon I won the silicon lotto bigger than any man has ever won

Lol I like it. However, I'm more excited that all my car piping came in yesterday than I have ever been over a computer.

What you doing on your car? I have only done sound system stuff

I got a shipment of that wrong tubing so I think I'm going to make one of those fancy fountains with my brother for my moms bday or something, my bro does wood carving / crafting things, and I can do all the pipes and pump etc

About how much did this cost? I'm leaning towards making a custom computer, and I'm wanting to know the cost.

    And what I should get.

I got a lot of the parts with black friday deals, so it's a bit less than what the stuff is now

    mobo - 100 (130 now)
    ram - 50 (77 now)
    cpu - 200 (220 now)
    gpu - 180 (190 now)
psu - 60 (70 now, new version is out though which is 70.. I'd recommend it since it's modular and same price.. and much better wires)
    ssd1 - 60 (110 now)
ssd2 - 115 (100 now) - this is my older ssd, still saturates sata3.. though got it loong ago so it was more
case - 30? I just get cheap ones and rip shit apart and weld it where I want

liquid cooling stuff is old, I've had all of it many years and reuse, reuse, reuse.. though that would be around 200 total probably

I can max every game in existence on single monitor, though multi monitor I'd need more graphics power probably (I have 3 monitors, but only game on single because I don't like looking across multiple)

damn that sounds cool, I don't know vehicles very well

I want to make a car out of superconductors and just liquid helium cool them.. get like a 100 pound super conductor, that'd hold about 10k pounds.. 9k for cooling and 1k for people lulz

Reading all of your posts made me excited to build my own computer. I have never done it, but it seems like alot of fun.

Going to need help though, haha.. I hate being a noob at things.

I've helped probably 100 or so people build who said the exact same thing, and only like 2 actually followed through and asked for my help, the others just did it (because it is really easy) picking the parts is the only tough part because it requires knowledge, but putting them together is super straight forward, like legos but they only can go in the correct spots

but yea if you need help with anything with them you can pm or add to skype.
