I'm thinking about getting a new processor to put in a second computer to run some bots on. i was looking for a processor around 200 dollars, i have narrowed my choices down to an fx 8350, i5 3570k, or an i5 2500k. what would you guys recommend?

i5 2500k
i5 3570K is currently the best for price. Decent OC and great for gaming. AMD isn't very good atm, and i5 2500K has less power than i5 3570K.
i5 3570k if you have the money, also look at overclocking it
About the Intel I5 Series: I5 3xxxx is the third generation, and I5 2xxxx the Second generation.
So I would go for a i5 3570k ( if you got the money ), Will last longer as well.
Oh I totally missed the third one which was the 3rd gen i5 cpu, yeah i5 3rd generation series you will love that
for 230 i could get a i7 3770k and the i5 3570k costs 215 would it be worth the extra 15 for HT? i do youtube etc 5 vids a week or so...
edit: has any one had experience with a micro center? their prices for processors are so cheap i was thinking it would be worth a 45 minute drive to get a 3570k for $160 or a 3770k for $230. i was originally going to spend 215 on newegg for a 3570k. so has anyone bought from them before? i'd be going to the one in Paterson NJ if anyones famaliar

Somewhere i could known,
That guy at the shop already told more crap.
It might be more efficient to buy like 3 low end i3s, and set those up as dedicated botting machines.
Currently Working on:
Mining:77/80
Herblore:55/80
pure bottting=fx 8350
else, get i5 3570k
fx 8350 is trash compared to an i5 3570k. An fx 8350 has lower performance per GHZ and it really is only a quad core with hyper-threading for "8 cores".

well for 230 i could get a 3770k im thinking of getting that since thats only 15 more than a 3570k. i have to drive 45 mins to micro center but i think it will be worth it for the boosted performance. opinions?

the 3770k would be good. Just overclock with a good cooler you will probably get it from 4 - 4.7ghz
if your thinking of going closed loop liquid cooling, dont, its awful, it will start amazing but its soooo un reliable and near impossible to dust/clean,
liquid cooling is only worth it in my experience if you custom loop and maintain it yourself, using a really good pump,
also a really good air cooler will outlive a liquid loop many times over, and performance will remain near enough the same if you maintain it well,
my current PC setup has a closed loop liquid cooler, and its just awful, never again, its burst twice due to the liquid expanding from heat, luckily when it was still under warrenty,
so if you want my advice, as for a CPU, i'd recommend anything Intel, the best you can afford, and as for the cooler, find a good air model that supports the cpu you pick and read some reviews / comparisons online
Programming is like trying keep a wall of shifting sand up, you fix one thing but somewhere else starts crumbling
Given my complete lack of knowledge when it comes to hardware, I generally rely on benchmarks and opinion of "experts". While FX-8350 has a much better overall benchmark according to www.cpubenchmark.com, it's really about equal when it comes to gaming to an i5-3570k and the general opinion is that the i5 runs smoother, especially when overclocked correctly.

Yeah i wouldnt get a closed loop lol waist of cash. Im going to micro center to pick up an i7 3770k i just placed my order online and am now praying hey dont mess it up... I got a hyper 212 evo with it ith an asrock z77 extreme4 mobo 2x8gb g.skill ddr3 1600 ram and he mobo came with 2x4gb sniper series ram.
