Furthermore, it's pretty apparent that more people are listening to other things besides rap.

Don't take it personally, I just wanted to point out to everyone that fighting over which is better (guitar/bass or mad rhymes) is getting old.

yeh ok let me point this out i know its not aimed at me but heres something for you to think about yes most people on here listen to metal but thats because we know how to work computers cough, cough, lets jst say "chavS" and "townies" arnt exsactly the smartest of people there everywhere wearing there trakies and burbiry hats

this is where the 98% comes in because there are so many of em take a look in town when you next go there jst count how many of these yobish twats you see arround starting on grannys robing there handbags

lets jst say "chavs" or what ever you personally class em as (i useally class em as pikies or twats tbh) they all listen to the same thing rap+r n b

im not saying every1 that listens to that is a twat but if you can see what im gettin at you should understand then ty for your time

Metallica is the best band ever. They play everything you could ever want. They have slow music, fast music, heavy music, wicked awesome solos. Kirk Hammet is awesome. He is definatelly one of my top 10 guitarists. I must admit though their last album titled "St. Anger" made me a little disappointed. I am really looking forward to their next album. Right now I am listening to Ride The Lightening.

    Edit:
I'm also kind of angry that they haven't toured in the US in years I would kill to see them live.

the question is though. Was it a bad album or a bad album for metallica? I hated reload more then st anger. I actually didnt mind the album abeit it didnt have solos. It was actually pretty good. If some other band released it more then likely people would be like "these guys are riff masters". When i saw them for BDO festival kirk added solos into st anger stuff. Turned out ok.

It was indeed a bad album for metallica. When I first heard it I did enjoy it, but was disappointed because I knew what metallica could produce. Frantic, Purify, and Invisible Kid were my favorite St. Anger songs. I like the song St. Anger but I think it is too long. The Lyrics in the entire album are great though, if you are a lyrics kind of person.

YES! im glad im not the first one to say it. The Eraser is the greatest thing ever and im really glad he still involved the rest of Radiohead in some of the songs. Did you see the clips of him playing The Clock on his guitar?

    http://youtube.com/watch?v=Vit9jav55to

the fact that he recreated the electronic ambience on a guitar is amazing. That clip also has Red Hot Chili Peppers playin Hey Oh, it was a great Jools Holland lineup.

    anyways, good music:

    - Radiohead
    - John Frusciante
    - Boards of canada
    - Tape
    - Jurrassic 5
    - Any of the CDs put out by "Adult Swim" (Definitive Swim and DangerDoom in particular)
    - Black Moth Super Rainbow
    - Del the funkee Homosapien
    - Blockhead
    - Bone Thugs ('course)
    - Elliot Smith
    - Handsome Boy Modeling School

oh man, i could go on forever. That list doesnt include any of the classic greats like Beatles, Zep, Bob D., and so on.
