    Default Is this possible?

For someone to send you a text, the text deletes itself and is never on the carriers servers?

Someone just told me this happened to them, and I really don't see a reason for them to lie to me (I am a 3rd party in this situation, my input has no impact what so ever).

I want to say this is impossible, but again the person who told me really has no reason to lie to me.

Yes it is possible because IOS 3 all the way to IOS 5 has a massive hole in the Messages App. Apple knew about this but never patched it until IOS 6.0.1 when it was brought to light. It's fairly similar to the PDF exploit.

In fact, you can even block your texts and send them anonymously or Spoof them to make it seem like someone else texted them. If you know someone in their address book, just change your number/name to that and send the text, they will not know that it was really you who sent it.

I don't know if this happens on Android but I do know android USED to have a ton of exploits. Pretty sure quite a bit are patched up.

I do not know if the carrier will have logs of this or not.

The text may be deleted from your phone but the data is still sent, I know a couple of government officials who deal with intercepting information with phones and data

It is possible, in many situations. If you have the timing right, and you are in right(or wrong) place at the right(wrong) time. Lol basically, in only certain situations.

It is indeed very possible, i read a news article about a malicious app that was intercepting bank verification texts and stealing the code, then making a withdrawal, then intercepting the warning text for a large amount, so the person never even knew till they check acc balance, goodjob apple
