    Default Getting fit

    Hey guys,

So -Benny gave me a healthy list of things to do which I wanted to do to stop being depressed. I have now decided. IT IS THE NEW YEAR. So how am I going to do this? I can't motivate myself to ride a exercise bike without doing what I love doing most. Talking on the internet.

So. Should I buy an excercise bike and add a desk? or a treadmill? Think it'l work?

You really don't need a exercise bike. Just go out and get a bike and go ride. Feeling unmotivated to exercise is common with everyone, you just have to suck it up and do it. But once you do it for a few weeks and get good at it, you won't want to stop.

IMO you should go out and run/jog. You don't need anything to do it and it gives you the energy you need to get through the rest of the day.

If you really want to go out and buy a machine so you can use the internet at the same time, I'd go with the exercise bike because if you want the treadmill to run on, you'll be bouncing up and down too much to do anything.

I work 2 jobs so I usually come back late at night, Don't really want to be out late and too tired to come back ^^ Crashing in bed would be nice.

    Thanks for your input

You should have made a resolution last year to not get fat in the first place.

That's understandable. I myself would go with the treadmill. I've tried both (with a exercise bike, anyways) and feel like running gets you in all-around better health and shape. But like I said, running on the treadmill and using a computer at the same time will be difficult, so if you REALLY have to be on the computer at the same time, perhaps the exercise bike will be better for your situation.

My family has a treadmill so I'l go for the bike, modify it to have a table, at least that way I can watch a film, sit on the laptop etc and casually do it. If I want to push myself further I'l use the treadmill downstairs

I suggest the treadmill, works for me. I run about 2.5 miles a day. Going at it for about 3 weeks now. Started jump roping as well. To get healthy, I guess eat right? Drink tons of water, and do .5 hours of exercise minimum, a day.

    Hope this helps.

I am planning on taking these pills called POLBAX that will supply me with all the necessary vitamins and minerals so I don't have to eat anything that can potentially make me gain weight. I drink a cup of coffee for breakfast that's it and for lunch I eat a low-sugar cereal bar without nuts. Sometimes I still go on an eating frenzy, but then I always make sure I don't digest it.

if there are any shows you love watching or anyhting really like you said talking on the internet i would recomend getting a treadmill rather than a bike. cuz with the bike theres a chance youll end up just sitting and not even realizing that you havent been pedaling. thats why i would recoment a treadmill.. cuz no matter what speed you put it at all your body is active. and with that you can always get a treadmill with a tv or put it infront of a tv or a place to dock your computer

Just because I'm serious about my weight-loss and always try my best to lose more and look more beautiful every day doesn't mean I'm crazy. There's a lot of people just like me and I've gotten in touch with others who are in a similar situation as I am because they are unhappy with their weight. For me this is more than losing weight - it's a lifestyle. I just can't be happy with myself until I reached my perfect weight below 41.3kg.
(If you're wondering where/how I got this figure...There's this website that takes your wrist measurements, height, body fat, age, gendre into account and gives you your perfect weight. I'm not going to name this website here, because it is very personal for me and should only be revealed to people who want to be slim and beautiful!)
Until then, I'm an overweight meatsack that has a lot of work to do when it comes to looking beautiful so if you have a problem with the way I live then keep it to yourself please - there's no need to insult me and call me crazy. If anything, I'm chubby, but you shouldn't call me that either because it's rude.

I got this number using a professional weight-loss website. The calculations are stated to be 'purely scientific and based on years of research' so between me and you Mr[S] - I think it's clear who is more trustworthy when it comes to the solid facts of weight-loss.

I'm 179cm tall, male and 20 years old.

If you're planning on calculating my BMI - then you should know that this is a really inaccurate way to calculate your optimum weight and in most cases it gives extremely high results. Almost any BMI calculation will point you to an overweight value.

OVERWEIGHT?! Are you like mentally unfit?

I was not actually thinking about BMI but as you bring it up

    You're bmi at 43kg would be - 13.4 (Underweight = <18.5)

so seriously anyone who thinks 43kg is a healthy way of living needs to eat more, you must be chilly at night son

I put a pullup bar on every door in my house, I do 10 when I walk under one, that's 20 pullups everytime I go to the bathroom, 30 whenever I go get food

kicks my ass some days when I'm cooking something from scratch cuz I keep running down to my computer then back upstairs, keeps me in good shape though

np, and yea, I'm far too lazy to actually workout, after like 30 seconds of lifting weights I'm like f this and go back to my computers

just in the past few years from doing this I've gone from being able to curl 25 pounds to being able to curl 50 pound weights with 1 arm.. so it's definitely doing a good workout

I wouldn't recommend starting at 10 if you got a few doorways, I started at 3 because it adds up fast as hell if you walk through a bunch of doorways, I add 1 every few months, might go to 11 here pretty soon

I reckon wack a table on the bike so you can message and just pedal casually whilst chatting on Skype.

I know it's hard to get into it but I reckon if you just do it once or twice you can get into it and it will really start to benefit you.

Remember it will hurt for about 1-2 weeks and then after that your body will adapt to it and you'll get much better and feel fitter
