    Default Samsung Galaxy S3

Just bought one with T-Mobile. 16 gig US version. What are are your opinions on this phone? I would have gone with a LG Nexus 4 bu they are still sold out on the Google Play store and I couldn't wait for them to be available again.

Have one, previously had an iPhone4, and I LOVE THIS PHONE and Android SOOO MUCH!
It's one of my favorite pieces of tech!

You should root it and flash a custom rom/kernel onto it before getting too much downloaded/customized. You'll have better performance, battery life, more options/customization etc. Just takes a few hours/googleing around to figure it all out.

    You're going to love it!

I'll look into rooting. . I believe the latest Android version for Galaxy s3 atm is 4.1.1 . Might root to get 4.2

Root it, and then install CyanogenMod version 10 (not 10.1) right now most/all of the 4.2 for non Nexus devices are buggy.
CyanogenMod version 10 is 4.1.2, CyanogenMod version 10.1 is 4.2.

So get the latest CyanogenMod 10 (not 10.1) either stable or nightly version.

I'll do this probably next week. I'm new to Android (iPhone 3gs before this) so I'll explore around before this.

Best to just get it over with soon, since after rotting/flashing it wipes all your stuff, but you can easily backup/restore it all and it's a quite painless process.
You're going to LOVE IT! I loved switching! Never going back to iPhone again!

Rooting (not sure), but Flashing a ROM voids warranty yes. I think there is a way to do it without voiding, but I don't really care either way. Software wise It's really hard to brick because you install a 'Custom Recovery' in which you can always boot to before the ROM so you are pretty much un-brick-able.

I have a Galaxy Nexus atm. Great phone. I would switch to an S3 in an instant if I could get it for free, but they're both really great
