    Default Windows 8

The current computer I have is going bad and I know my dad is going to be looking for a new computer within the next couple months. I told him windows 8 is stupid and I would rather have windows 7, he agreed but would some applications be less compatible on windows 8(such as Simba )
We're pretty much looking for a windows 7 computer with 8 gb of ram At a reasonable price and it seems all the windows 7 computers best buy is carrying are like 4 gb of ram which we don't want.

I'm running Simba on Windows 8 perfectly fine, it doesn't make a difference at all (other than Simba uses slightly less resources on Windows 8). Windows 8 is definitely a change from Windows 7, but you get used to it after awhile. And more and more things are becoming compatible with Windows 8 by the day (what is left to make compatible?). And couldn't you just put Windows 7 on any computer you want to?

XP is by far my favorite OS. windows 7 works fine also, eight kinda puts me off but I honestly haven't used it more than a few clicks on my dads desktop.
Non-RS scripter, if you need a hand with scripting let me know. I have a decent amount of experience scripting for non-RS games.

Nothing that I used before I got Windows 8 is incompatible with it atm. There's probably some things yet, but mostly everything is compatible now since it's official release.

I am not a fan of Win8 (linux for life) but...

I understand the need for a computer to be parent accessible. That being said I have heard good things as far as the usability of Windows 8 from non techie people, and also most every daily use program is compatible.

You could always buy the extra ram (Its going to be less than $25.) from Best Buy when you buy the computer -This is very easy to install and I would be happy to help you through it if you need.

I have been using Windows 8 for a while now and recently did some SIMBA stuff on there so it works just fine. Not sure where you live or how old your system is I just keep upgrading my system bit by bit which is hella cheaper than buying a whole new system!
