1. ## 1 - 99 Smithing ~ 3 Different Routes to take! (Scripts Included!)

Introduction:
This will help everyone, starting at any level, achieve 99 smithing. Either spending the most for the fastest level, multi skilling, or even doing it the slow painful way. You will have it right here at your fingertips!
By: US Marine <3

Chapters:
1. The Basics Levels 1-15 / 15-48/40
2. Varrock Anvil Method(Fastest)
3. Gold Bars Method(Slowest)
4. SuperHeat Method(Multi-Skilled)
5. Extra information/Special Items
*Each chapter will have its own skill/quest requirements.*

Chapter 1: The Basics.

Everyone has to start at the lowest possible level, and if you are in this situation, this will be the best place to start.
If not, skip to the next section.

Requirements:
• Runescape player.
• Roughly 700,000gp.
• Hammer/Anvil

Level 1 - 15

I recommend doing Daggers, its fast, and you can do 27/28 per inventory.
This should only take 20-30minutes to complete, if that.

Bronze Daggers: Total of 193.
Cost of 1 Dagger = 1 Bronze Bar.
Cost of 1 Bronze Bar = 176gp.
Total cost from 1-15 Smithing: 34,000gp
(If you sell the Daggers, you will make 14,600gp back. That is alot for some.)

Level 15 - 40 / 48

For these levels I recommend doing Iron Daggers, or you can mix it up. I'll only do the calculations for just Daggers though.
If you stop at 40 for Gold Ores/SuperHeating, skip ahead.

Iron Dagger: Total of 1393 / 3225
Cost of 1 Dagger: 1 Iron Bar.
Cost of 1 Iron Bar: 186gp
Total cost from 15-40 / 48 Smithing: 260,000gp / 600,000gp

(If you sell the Daggers you get 47,000gp / 109,000gp back.)

Chapter 2: Varrock Anvil Method.

This is by far the most expensive smithing, but it had extremely fast exp rates. If you have the money, I recommend it. This is how I got 99 smithing.
This will show you how to get from 48 to 99 smithing the fastest way possible.

Requirements:
• Roughly 560M (560,000,000)
• 48 Smithing
• Hammer/Anvil

Perks:
• Extremely fast exp 170k-190k exp/h.

Cons:
• Extremely expensive.

Level 48 - 86 / 88

Steel Platebody: 18,746 / 22,949
Cost of 1 Plate: 5 Steel Bars.
Cost of 5 Steel Bars: 3,270gp
Total cost from 48-86 / 88 Smithing: 61,299,420gp / 75,043,230gp

(If you sell the Plates you get 29,281,252gp / 35,846,338gp)
((Total loss of: 32,018,168gp / 39,196,892gp))
**Those numbers are scary, but can be smaller if you check out chapter 5!**

For those who stop at 86 to get to 88 faster using adamant:
Level 86 - 88

Cost of 1 Plateleg: 3 Adamant Bars.
Cost of 3 Adamant Bars: 9,183gp
Total cost from 86-88 Smithing: 38,596,149gp

(If you sell the Legs you get 14,723,109gp.)
((Total loss of: 23,873,040gp))

Level 88 - 99

These prices will.. Scare you. Hold on to your chair.

Cost of 1 Plate: 5 Adamant Bars.
Cost of 5 Adamant Bars: 15,305gp
Total cost from 88-99 Smithing: 423,581,180gp *Dont run just yet!*

(If you sell the Plates you get 268,955,368gp.)
((Total loss of: 154,625,812gp))

$$Chapter 2 all together loss: 210,517,020gp(with 86-88) / 193,822,704gp$$\$

**Those number are extremely scary!! Go to chapter 5 NOW if you plan on doing this method.**

Chapter 3: Gold Bars Smithing.

This a decent way to get 99 smithing, without multi-skilling. It might even cost a lot if you dont mine all the ore.
I dont recommend it, but alot of people do it.

Requirements:
• Family Crest Quest
• Gold Gauntlets
• Varrock Armor helps.
• Roughly 232,000 gold ore

Perks:
• Possibly get 99 crafting. With little loss.

Cons:
• Seems extremely slow exp wise.

From 40 to 99 smithing you will need gold gauntlets obtained by doing the Family Crest quest.
If you do not have these gauntlets, dont even think about doing this or the superheat method.
Its a waste of time. Go get them NOW!

Level 40 - 99

Gold Bars: 231,268
Cost of 1 Bar: 1 Gold Ore.
Cost of 1 Gold Ore: 261gp
Total cost from 40-99 Smithing: 60,360,948gp

Different options you can take:
• If you mine the ore, you make: Roughly 34,000,000gp.
• If you buy them, and make them into bracelets you lose: Roughly 11,000,000
**You gain 99 Smithing and 99 Crafting for only a 11M loss. Not bad? Very time consuming.**
• If you buy, then sell them you lose: 26,364,552gp.

Chapter 4: SuperHeating Method.

Requirements:
• Family Crest Quest
• Gold Gaunlets
• 40+ Smithing
• 43 Magic
• Fire Staff
• Roughly 232,000 Nature Runes
• LRC access will be helpful
• Fire Staff

Perks:
• Train up to 3 skills at once.
• Bank bars to acheive 99 crafting
• Can be decent exp if not multi skilling.

Cons:
• Can be slow exp if multi skilling.

I recommend doing this method, specially if you want to get two or more skills to 99 in one big shot. It is possible to get 99 mining, magic, and smithing all at once. With 99 crafting right behind it if you bank the bars! But like I said before, if you do NOT have the Gold Gauntlets, turn back now.

Level 40 - 99

SuperHeat Casts/Ores: 231,268
Cost of 1 Bar: 1 Superheat / 1 Ore.
Cost of 1 Superheat/Ore: 110gp / 261gp
Total cost of 40-99 Smithing: 25,439,480gp / 60,360,948gp

To max out this method of training do the following options:
• Do LRC mining with Superheat+Banking combo. This will achieve 99 mining, smithing, magic, and later 99 crafting. You WILL make profit once you sell the bracelets. 24M Profit.
• Buy all the ore and superheat them in the bank for decent exp/h. Also save the bars for 99crafting later. You will lose roughly 36M.
• LRC mining with Superheat+Drop combo. Decent mining, magic, and smithing exp/h. You will lose 25M with this option.

Chapter 5: Extra Information/Special Items.

So, could see that some of the prices were.. A bit high?
Or some of the ways would take wayyy to long to legit?
Here are some ways to make this process faster, and cheaper.

Sacred Clay Hammers - Great item to have, cuts all the prices and time in half! Great guide right here: http://villavu.com/forum/showthread.php?t=91709

Golden Hammer - From the Golden Cracker recieved from when Jagex won the Golden Joystick Awards. This makes you look cool while smithing. *nice save eh?*

Golden Gauntlets - You obtain this item by completing the Family Crest quest. If you do not have these, you need to get them NOW!
Use this: http://www.runehq.com/quest/family-crest

Summoning - While doing Chapter 2 use beasts of burden pets they will make everything faster. Terror Bird, War Tort, and a Yak. It helps!

Varrock Armor - Complete the Varrock Daries to help you smith, and mine faster!!!

2. This is great, I'll definitely use this!

One thing:

Golden Hammer - From the Golden Cracker recieved from when Jagex won the Golden Joystick Awards. This allows you to open up one more spot in your inventory.
Because of the toolbelt update you no longer need a hammer in your inventory

3. Holy moly. Brilliant guide. You've put a lot of effort into it.

You might want to add a section for those who will craft them for 99 craft - what I did was to buy ruby and emeralds that had been cut to boost my crafting xp per hour by a decent 20-40k. You still make money with it. Ye easiest way is to leave a bulk order in the ge for several thousand gems then keep retopping up as you go along.
I recommend this as the cheapest and most viable method if you don't mind spending a little bit longer.
Well done. Repped +

4. Nice guide, could mention superheating profitable / less loss bars. Since thats still pretty quick xp (Mithril and addy both hit 50k smithxp/hr)

6. Very nice man, great guide!

As of right now, you could superheat mithril ores til 70(not sure what your smithing level is) for a profit of 60 per bar after all materials(Mith ore, 2x coal, nature rune) and do addy bars til 99 at a loss of 20gp per bar. It's about 100K more ores than gold ores though but a lot cheaper. Mith bars will require 200K(roughly depending on your actual level again) more bars at a profit of ~25M. Again not a fast method by any means but certainly cheap.

May do the mith bars just for some easy levels, but atm any loss is too much I don't make any old making scripts atm Thanks for the tip! I keep meaning to level mining to 80 so I can use Asham LRC but just never got around to it :/

I'm in the same boat as you . Currently doing fletching to 99 for tiny profit of 8M then move on to smithing for small profits again. I see it as a win since I'm not losing at all even though the monetary gain is minimal.

11. In F2P, the best way to level up is using the artisans' workshop. You train for free in the basement at first, and then you can smith iron ingots all the way for little cost. (Got 85 smith for a few mill)

12. Very nice guide

13. Very nice US!

14. Nice guide!

You should add rune bar superheating onto there though. It can get you 60k smithing xp per hour and anywhere from 200k-1m+ gp per hour depending on current prices. You need a good amount of money (80m+) if your expecting be away from your computer for awhile though.

Awesome guide +rep.

17. Great guide, but atm Addy bars are way over priced. Its Cheaper to do Adamant burial armour iii at artisans workshop, its a little faster then platebodys(unless you never miss a tick making platebodys) and you can afk for 5mins at a time while doing it! great movie watching skill ;D

Normally plates are alot cheaper, but right now burial is. So i would suggest doing that instead.

18. are sacred clay hammers worth it when goldsmithing?
