    Default New hobby possibly?

I heard a guy talking about mountian biking when he gets back to the states... I looked into it and it seems like an interesting hobby/outdoor activity.
I need something to do outside other than surfing, flying an RC place, and walking to work..

So, question, anyone here do/have done mountian biking before?
If so, let me know what you thought of it, and if it can be a very expensive hobby. (besides buying the bike)

Seems like alot of fun... Not trying to freak anyone out or anything but is there anyone in the San Diego, CA area that is into MTN Biking and is willing to go out to show a noob how its done?

I think this is something I could really get into.

i have been mtn biking a few times. i prefer bmx/scootering/skateboarding more though. mostly scooters now though. but uhm buy a bike on like craigslist or ask your local bike shop they will usually be able to hook you up with a pretty decent used bike for not too much. otherwise you just have to pay for helmet/gear and to ride the trails.

You are exactly the same height as me, lol.
The best bet will be to go to your local bike shop and let them know how experienced you are and what you are looking a bike for..

Do you already have a bike? And most of the 'cool' and not so crazy tracks seem to be more around the LA area. I have a tiny little truck, and love to drive. Its not even that far of a drive really.
