Default Hosts muted + Future of Gambling

Warning: DO NOT TRY THIS ON YOUR MAIN ACCOUNTS. YOU WILL GET A TWO DAY MUTE, AND EVENTUALLY A LONGER ONE IF YOU DO IT AGAIN AFTER THE 2 DAYS IS UP.

Jagex has recently starting combatting hosters/gamblers.
This first move is by automatically muting players who type and enter the words "H/C x2"

When that is typed and entered, the player will automatically get muted or get muted by a forced log out/next time the player logs in.

Example shown here by a friend of mine who does not gamble and decided to type it in to test it
    Result: 2 day mute

Also, here is a thread by Mod Mark, asking us on what to do about the future of flower games

    Was posted already :P
Ofcourse the being banned if you type in "2x h/c" is NEW news to me wow.

Wonder what they are going to do about it...
Would be kinda lame if they put an NPC in charge and made it 50/50. Kinda... pointless?
Oh well, its also lame to gamble. I don't support it at all.

i dont get why people are so deadset against gambling, let people do what they want with their money, or just make a alternative. its ironic how they are so dead set against gambling with the squeel of fortune buyable spins still in game

I'm against it not because I disprove of gambling but because its a major supplier for gold selling websites which I think ruin the game.

I would like to see them add NPC's for gambling but perhaps set the odds at only 45% chance of winning, this would provide a great money sink into the game and help to stabilize the economy.

Since we can't get rid of SOF means we can't get rid of gambling? I am against both but I know in reality, SOF will probably never go away. But gambling can and that is why I (personally) am deadset against it.

I think it is the volume of gold sold by gamblers, not that they RWT.

I quite like the thought of NPC's doing it. Interesting forced mute though!

I think if there was a NPC supported system it would and should somehow involve players managing those NPC's, If they just add an interface between two players to gamble between each other - that would probably suck, instead if they were to add another party in to managing those so called game-managed gambling systems - would add an entirely new view to Gambling and doing business. (Example : Renting Gambling Booths, NPC's and such)

This is a pretty clever idea - so what you would trade the gold to an npc and then the npc would give the gold to who ever wins or something along the lines of that?

Yes, that's how it should work except Players will should be able to make them competitive and always make sure the NPC is well funded, for example a NPC/GameRoom Managed by a Player should allow betting levels, it should display with how much cash the NPC has been funded (maybe even Rares and items can be added to the gambling pool ) ((if the funds run low at a minimum floor set by Jagex, he should have a day to replenish stock, or else lose the lease on the Gambling Channel) , I don't know there are a lot of possibilities, for example auctioning off these houses to players every week (would remove a lot of gp from the economy as well). And what would the player handling a Gambling Room gain ? Well it is simple, he has the ability to adjust a tax as well or the odds of winning.

This is also a good opportunity for jagex to introduce a 1% gambling tax as well to cut down some inflation.

Anyway there are plenty of good ideas that can be implemented, it just takes a little bit of ambition. But as I know Jagex they will just add an interface between 2 players wishing to bet each other, offering the easiest solution (the crappy and cheap alternative to introducing something more immersive)
