Please show me the scripts that do this. If there are none, do us a favour and don't lie.

How about you don't assume i'm a compulsive liar next time. Seriously, seeing only the bad in people is kinda depressing, you should be more optimistic.

He never assumed you were a compulsive liar. Anyway, can you really blame him with your past behaviour?

Don't want to argue here about that.

Anyway, I think he was talking about he never actually sees anybody try that method

I didn't say you were a compulsive liar, I didn't even say you were a liar. I said that if you didn't show me the scripts that you said existed, I would have to come to the conclusion that your statement was untrue. I was not trying to group you into a category based on that one statement you made, and I'm sorry if you thought I was. I just advise you to think more carefully in the future whether you are saying something that is true or not.

The original purpose of my message, which you seem to have ignored, was for you to show me the scripts that did what you described.

E:And before someone calls me on not calling him a liar, I believe a liar is someone who repeatedly lies and knows that they are lieing. If telling a lie once in your life made you a liar, then most of us would be. I don't think this one incident is enough to characterize you as a liar.

You're like the SRL Dictionary here! You often correct people's spelling mistakes.
I'm glad you're of some use here.

Creds to DannyRS for this wonderful sig!

What I was trying to say is that I don't think of you as a liar because you told a lie. I don't think that telling lies is your main characteristic so I don't choose to associate "liar" with your name, even if you have told a lie. Does that make sense?

Also I apologise profusely for my spelling error.

Details are still being ironed out but this looks like the best solution for everyone ATM.
So long as the post count is reasonable....Sounds like a fair way to do it!

Actually this is a good point... perhaps the admins can police that though... like if someone posts "Woohoo" and that is ALL it is clearly spam....perhaps they could have a penalty system in place which if repeatedly offended against gets all privs removed?

NO... I would say that is not correct... the more leechers you have the more larger of a target we all become as a group. What we need are truly active members....who are not afraid of reporting scripts they use (I think PMs are better in many cases for that) to the authors with errors or if it is runnign well...who perhaps even write some scripts of their own if they can...and let's face it folks..some of us are wizards! some of us are NOT! BUT it is within each of us to give SOMETHING back to the community...each according to their abilities.

Some use here? I did release 3 scripts within my first week here. All of them got quality feedback. I'm also always helping in the help section as well.

I'd appreciate not to be antagonized for no real reason.

So what do leechers give back to the community? Hate? Flame? This is the usual response when a script has an anti-leech.

Thats true.. I think the new way of dealing with it as proposed by the admins will help....No anti-leech...but at same token less scripts for the 7 posts folks to access.

As one of the "newer" people here I found anti-leech enticed me to learn and participate in the community. I have never felt or been flamed for asking how to fix something in fact quite the opposite. A few members were nice enough over PM to point me in the right direction which helped me decipher scripting even more. I think Asha has an amazing anti-leech in his LRC script and I think this is a win-win ... a script that still works but requires some sort of "fix" to unlock full benefits. My only concern with completely dis-allowing anti-leech is it will just be easier not to post new/update scripts so the non-member community takes a hit in overall content regardless.

I think a time requirement and post count should be required for accessing downloads.

Sadly post counts simply encourage spamming instead. And time requirements don't matter for that much in the scheme of things.

i have mixed feelings about this since i just joined villavu maybe a week ago, but before i joined i had no idea what an anti leech was and when i figured out that scripters purposely put mistakes for us to learn i was like "ok this seems fair so the little 12 year old kids cant abuse bots like this and theres less chance of ban right?" and when i looked at the script i was completely lost, like programming in general is very foreign to me but i do want to get involved in programming and when i get into college i am going to take programming classes. As i was saying, i was lost and entered a chat room and NO ONE would help me it got me really frustrated because people were just completely ignoring me..If you're trying to teach use why not put a small tutorial on the basics of programming with pascal...

The tutorial section of the forums is a great place to start learning and I can guarantee that you'll learn how to solve every (reasonable) anti-leech from there.

PS: Did our names just get bolder?

I concur ... before I even tried to solve the anti-leeches and try deciphering scripts I watched Yo's video tutorials ... required viewing IMO. This makes learning SO much easier ... then I tried to solve the anti-leech THEN I asked for help. I am not sure if thats what happened here but I can see how frustrating it is to scripters to have a person 1 week registered asking how to solve the anti-leech. Thats exactly why the anti-leech is in there in the 1st place.

Anti-leeches are no longer allowed. Anything of the sort will not be tolerated. Therefore the leechers get to run a script someone worked hard on without any real work.
